You reach for your phone, they reach for theirs, and now you are stuck convincing Apple and Android to play nice while the moment slips away. Or you hand over a thoughtful business card that feels great, looks sharp, and gets you remembered. We know which one works.
At Foote Printing, we see it every day. Business cards still win because they are tangible, stylish, and fast. The challenge is knowing what to print, how to design it, and which finishes are worth it. Here is how we guide clients to a business card that gets kept, not tossed.
A great card is a modern calling card. It communicates brand style in seconds and makes a personal connection that a screen cannot. It also sidesteps tech friction so your contact info gets saved right away. With the right paper stock, finish, and layout, your card becomes a small but powerful marketing tool.
Paper is your foundation. We help clients choose the right weight and feel for their brand and budget.

Finishes turn a good card into a memorable one. Our favorite is soft touch. The second someone feels it, they notice. It has a velvety texture that signals quality before they even read the card.
Other strong options:
Die cuts and embossing are available, but they can get pricey fast. Our sweet spot is a clean design on quality stock with soft touch, sometimes paired with spot UV for contrast.
Keep it simple and purposeful. You do not need to cram everything in.
We also love a QR code on the back. Link it to your website or make it a direct contact download so they can save you with one scan. It is a small move that boosts follow through.
Great printing starts with the right file. Here are the basics we recommend to every designer and DIYer:
If bleed and safe areas are new to you, that is ok. Send us your file and we will make sure it is set up correctly before we print.

We also print on specialty materials, including certain plastics, although plastic business cards are a separate conversation. Ask us what is possible.
